2012 in review

December 31, 2012

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 9,700 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 16 years to get that many views.

No, I did not write this, obviously, but I agree!!!

New Jesse Tree Guide

November 23, 2012

Lately I find my self spending a decent amount of time at a blog called Sanctus Simplicitus.  It is a wonderful resource for Catholic parents.  One the website there is always a host of printables for feast days and liturgical seasons.  The artwork is beautiful.  Recently they have compiled a Jesse Tree Guide.  The minute it popped up on their blog, I  knew it would be a great resource.  We’re awaiting the printed copy, but the e-book arrived today.  It is wonderful and promises to lead us to a finished Jesse Tree this year!

Re Posting the St. Nicholas Unit

November 16, 2012

Or at least posting a link.  Advent is coming.  Last month I started planning our Advent, it must be the baby that’s making me do it.

Here is the link.

Have a blessed Advent!

Woah!

November 16, 2012

James looked at me today, belly first and said in an astonished voice, “Woah!  I didn’t realize you were that big!”

I told him I’m not.  His glasses must be fuzzy.  He replied with, “I didn’t think so.”

B is for Bean

November 8, 2012

For B week, the girls made a frame of beans for their big letter “B”s to be glued into.  Here are pictures of Charlotte and Veronica working on them.  Of course, I did not get pictures of the finished work.

I know we did a lot of other B things, but I can’t recall any at the moment.  We were going to do B is for Blanket, but didn’t make it that week.  Luckily the blankets had Cinderella on them, so they fit into C week nicely, which is still going on after 3 weeks, but that is another story!

My Office in the School Room

March 24, 2012

If you have been to my house in the last few years, you know that my desk is always piled with goodies and the table is usually covered.  Well, we worked on it today.  We took a few pictures because it may never look like this again.  I’m open for business now!  Veronica added the candle on the table.

There is a story behind the Pac-Man garbage can.  My favorite brother bought it for me years ago.  He would always get me presents that he really wanted himself, but was considered too old for.  When I grew up I gave it to a little boy named Steven.  After Steven passed away, his parents gave this back to me.  He kept it in his room all those years.  Now it proudly sits in my office.

March 15, 2012

March 15, 2012

Today is March 15, 2012.  The children have been in the creek playing as the temperature has gone well into the 80s today.  I’m not sure, but I don’t think this is “normal” Tennessee weather!
