Thanksgiving 2011

It was us and Tom this year.  We’re always glad when he can make it.  He never knows where he’ll be when…such is the life of a truck driver!  Here are the pictures…

Two notables about this year.  First, it was Vincent’s first Thanksgiving.  Second, my pies were fancy.  However, no pictures were taken!  Ugh!!  For years on my Amazon wish list was Meredith McCarty’s book Sweet and Natural.   Earlier this year I finally purchased a copy.  It made this year’s pumpkin pies so easy, tasty, and fancy!  There were little leaf crust cut outs on the top of some of the pies.  I made enough for them all, but little fingers kept taking them.  Also, those same 3-year-old little fingers kept moving them around on the pie tops and occasionally one would disappear!  At least she enjoyed herself.

We have so much to be grateful for…our family, especially our 7 blessings, our home, our parish.  We hope you had a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving.
