Today’s Phone Call

Around noon we were driving home from a Contenders meeting and my cell phone rang.  It was a friend of mine in another county.  She said, “Do you know about the tornado?”  No, I didn’t.  She said, “Tornado right now 1 mile north-east of Ethridge.  Take cover.”  Well, that’s about the most exciting phone call I have gotten in a while!  I turned on the radio and heard it was in Lawrence County heading into Giles County.  We saw nasty, nasty clouds to the north of us, which turned out to be where it was.  It traveled east, but stayed to the north of us.  Praise God.   Later this afternoon we took a ride to check on my brother’s house in Ethridge because damage was said to have occured on a road that he lived off of.  His place didn’t get touched either.  We did go down that road and could not get back home that way because they had it closed.  We did see a good sized barn with it’s metal roof torn off and scattered all over the place.  Also, if you were coming from Ethridge, going to Lawrenceburg on Rt. 43 you saw some damage.  Several of the houses there had trees on them.    I have not heard of any fatalities and only one minor injury.  Here are the quick pictures that I snapped…

I was just popping over here to see if you might have a post up saying you guys were all right. I heard about the tornado in Lawrence county and said a prayer for you guys. We watched the clouds spinning over our house, but nothing touched down, thanks be to God!

Praying all is still well with you and the littlest! See you guys at Mass!

    Dear Kristen,

Thank you for posting this. I read it a few minutes before I saw it on TV. It looks like your house with a tree on it on the news! I’m glad you’re OK. God bless you and praise Him for your safety!

    Love,
    Sue

    Kristen,
Was thinking of you yesterday! Toby had to wait to leave work for almost an hour….the rain was coming down so hard he could barely see in the parking lot.
So thankful you are all okay!!!

    Blessings,
    Laurie
