Other September Happenings

There are a few pictures that were on my camera that we managed to save.  Our church had a labor day festival that was fun.   Here are some pictures of the girls on the little cars…

We had a pretty good pumpkin harvest despite the drout and bugs.  Here is the final harvest under the table…

One Monday a few weeks ago I went to my closet and took something out that I knew the boys would (somewhat) appreciate.  (Thanks to Steven Tooth for the lovely jersey!)  That day I really wanted to post a GO SKINS! blog post with this picture, but never got around to it.  (The Skins did win that game!!!)

Finally, Kevin still has the knack for finding reptiles.  This picture is a little tiny lizzard in Kevin’s 9 year old hands.  He never ceases to amaze me with what he manages to find.

Today he managed to rescue a female cardinal from Fluffy cat.   Joe got the tractor and brought up our old birdcage (we used to have an African Grey in it and after that a few cockatiels.)  They did a great job of getting the grass clippings, a shallow water dish, and some bird seed.  The bird’s wing was pretty bad and this evening it died.  But, wonderful lesson in birds and life.   John was looking in every encyclopedia and bird book we have reading all he could to try and help it.

On one other sad note, in case you don’t know, we also lost another baby this month.  It was only at 9 weeks gestation so it was not nearly as hard on me physically as the last one.  We thank everyone for their prayers.  But, looking back, this month has been so filled with blessings, “How can I keep from singing?”   Life goes on and, with God’s grace, we’ll try to live it to the fullest!

Reptiles, fun and boys…I believe those words are synonymous…..Sounds like the family had a wonderful day.

I am so sorry for the loss of your little one. It doesn’t matter how far along you are it is still a child. I know in your heart you will always feel for those little ones. God bless……
