First Snow of the Year!!! (or We’re Not in Virginia Anymore!)

The streets and stores were so crowded yesterday.  The big trucks with the plows on the front were sprinkling salt water on the roads.  All this for a predicted 1 inch of snow?  Yes, we are in the south.   When we got up it looked as it there was about 1/2 inch on the ground.  But, the children were so excited.  They dug out snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves.  Here are some early morning pictures…

First we have the cats enjoying the porch.   Shabby, Fluffy, & Fancy.  Next we have our big, red barn.

Next, here are the children.  They built a little snowman, played football (of course!)  and tried to go sledding.

It is a bit funny how the southern states get hysterical about a little snow, I was surprised that our local bank closed when we had an inch of snow last year!
